The Elite by Kiera Cass (Book Review)

The Elite is the sequel of The Selection. It is also the second book in The Selection trilogy which i'm currently very loving it. It feels good to be in that world again and i'm glad i reread the first and the second book because without me doing so, i would've forgot 40% of things.

As i said before, The Elite is a sequel. I have made a book review for The Selection so if you wanna read my thoughts on that book then go check that out. If you wanna know what's the trilogy about i recommend you look at that too. You look at the review right here.

I'm not going premise the whole plot about this book because it is a sequel and i have to spoil you if you wanna hear it. It's basically the continuation of the first book.

I really loved this book more than The Selection. I don't know why people liked The Selection more. The Elite is way more better for me, it have more dramas and more emotion and more gasps and more hatred and love.

It maybe because the main character, America Singer, is very very annoying at times. Because trust me, i've been mad at America a bunch of times. She's just so... complicated. Like we know what you're dealing with but just try to control yourself. She is the type of character that just do without thinking straight.

But i still love this more, of course.

The character seems to unravel themselves in this book, I know what they're personalities more now. Some are good and some are just ugh. And so many twists in this book too! Well, not much actually but something just like twisted and just made me whoa.

Kiera Cass is so good making books. Her writing style is great and this book have a sort of "Addicting" nature to itself. You just can't stop reading. Even when i'm rereading this, i tried to make time for reading it again because i have to know. Like, i'm very anxious when i'm at school because i can't read The Elite.

Let's talk about the cover. It seems that i liked The Selection's cover than this. Like, it maybe because i like blue better if you can't tell that  by now. But it's like she's mad in the cover which seems like kinda make sense with the story. I don't like her hair, i don't know why. I prefer girls being long-haired. And he hand is like so simple. Just like putting my hand on my dress with style but failed. And looking at her face- SHE'S NOT UGLY- i just don't like that some book covers shows the model's face. At times it ruined my imaginations.

Oh! And this book just switch my feelings for such characters. For example, from like to hate or hate to like. Because when they unravel themselves, some show their good side a lot and some show their bad side a lot too.So it's very interesting when i reread The Selection because when i reread it, i was like shut the heck up even though we didn't know this certain character would do that.

The Elite seems more rough. In The Selection, it's like it made us thinks that happily ever after is easy and simple (Lol not really.) and in The Elite, it shows reality. We have to fight for what we want and i'm soooooo excited for reading The One. I have it now, and the reason i'm not reading it right now it's because i want to share my feelings because heck yeah i got feelings.

And it's becoming more like The Hunger Games-y now in The Elite. Because we have to fight but not with bows and arrows but instead dramas and tiaras. I'm just kidding. And there's not much of a death here than i thought it would be. Maybe it's because Kiera Cass want us to be attached to these characters and make us suffer. But she's not that evil, right?

But too late for that matter, i'm already attached. Like you just want to punch some characters or hugs them. It just made me realised that i care for America, i actually care for the main character. Some books's main character was like i don't care.

I read this book in about in TWO DAYS YAAAAY! And i'm so happy. The last time i read this book, i finished it also in two days. And when i reread The Selection, the first time i finished it in two days and when i reread it, it multiplies by two. So four days. But as i was saying, this book is more awesome than The Selection and also i have a weekend.

A little note i'm gonna put, is that i said The Elite wrong. I'm not America so i don't know how to said it right at first. Until someone when i heard the review and they said the right thing. I said it like "eh-light" and i was so ashamed of myself. Luckily i haven't said the title to my friend yet, so i am saved. Woo-hoo!

And one more thing, Publishers Weekly said this in The Elite's back cover. It says : "A Cross between The Hunger Games (minus the blood sport.) and The Bachelor (minus the blood sport.)" Like, i laughed when i read the sentence. I didn't know book reviewers can be funny, i always thought them as proper and intimidating. If you don't get what it means, then you should get out more. When i said get out more i mean browse the internet more, i'm sorry.

ONE LAST THING, I feel like i'm very intelligent writing this somehow... maybe because i didn't fangirl and to match the place's attitude but yeah.

35 Girls came to Da palace. Only 6 remains.

Now i'm going to discuss the book which means i have to spoil it, so if you have not read the book, hello? Where are you this whole time? The beautiful cover didn't catch your eyes? i recommend you leave, read, and go back here, okay? Bye people who haven't read The Elite! And if you haven't read The Selection, go and read all two books.

So let's talk about Kriss. Umm... i hate her. She's so kind and innocent but nope, she is not. I know it's because of love, i know she truly loves Maxon and whatever and America is worse but i just hate her you know?

I was going to say i hate her more than Celeste but i have to think that one through. Like i think she's trying to sabotage America. It didn't happen on this book but maybe in The One? But she is...  Kriss. She wouldn't do that, right?

Maxon should use his brain more, America gives him more than Kriss. I don't know what it is but when i knew Maxon loved her just because she gave him something, i was like isn't America done this more times than you and also more valuable stuff? Lol, i'm kinda mean but Maxon use your brain. America, the one you loved and not Kriss, needs you right now. You should check on her more.

Maybe Maxon is lying when he said he have work but at the start of the book, America didn't do anything but time. For your America to reduce the amount of time, you have to comfort her, you have to make her believe that she's in capable hands and somehow make her loves you more. And when she needs time, you just reacted by loving another girl.

I want Kriss to go but i want to see the look on her face when Maxon proposed to America. He better proposed to America in public so he can break Kriss's AND Aspen's heart. Who doesn't want a double K.O? And don't you see that you are risking everything for America and what does that means? You cared for her very very very very very very very very very very much, Maxon!

I never thought i would be frustrated at Maxon, wow Kiera Cass, you make a good job.

When he shouted for her when she goes to the woods, it just made my heart flutter. He cares for her! And he just put Kriss into Aspen's arm like you can't do that to a girl with a broken leg, but if he does that it means he doesn't whole-heartedly cares for Kriss which is a good thing! And when the halloween night when he saved the whole night just for America i was like yes, yes, yes!

Her presentation seems pretty good, though. It's because she's a scientist, of course, so CHEAT YOU CAN'T CHEAT. You see what i did there? I never thought i could be mad at someone like Kriss. In The Selection she was very nice, i think of her as her best friend liek Tiny or is it Tuesday? Oh god, it's so strange living without them in the room.

Let's talk about America's presentation. I loved her. Like, she is so brave and when she's the queen everyone has to stood up for her and end the caste systems, right? If i was to make a presentation, i'd probably use Divergent's technique, i probably have choose like, at the age of sixteen, there's a test that would rank you from two to eight. And when you married, THAT will change.

Let's talk about Silvia. When Kriss and America gave her a necklace she was so speechless. Like, that made me wonder what caste she's in. If she's six than that's very surprising. She may as well be a two or a three. And when America want private lessons and she was so ecstatic, ugh i love Silvia. And i'm so scared what will she react to America's presentation. She is her star student, after all.

Let's talk about the king. Who expect the ruler of Illea to be this jerk-face? I didn't like he is so mean and he throws very nasty comments to America when she meet him in the hallway. Like, you said she have abad temper but you also do. So if you think you're a great ruler, America is a good ruler too! The differences is that America is really a great ruler and he is not. What's his name? Jerk-face Clarkson?

The queen is like the exact opposite of him. So loveable and just so patient and i'm very excited for the novella prequel Kiera Cass is making! The queen is white and the king is black. It's like beauty and teh beast. The beauty is the queen and the beast is the king. The evil and the good. Maybe this novella would like the retelling of beauty and the beast.

Aspen. I think i hate him less more, maybe it's because of his actions towards America. I cared for her and if her cared for her so much maybe i can go through that? But i don't like him. Like i don't have any feelings at all. If Something happened to him, i was well maybe sad but i didn't care. It's like his my friends's brother's friends' friends's sister's friend's brother's. Like if i heard that i was like poor you and gave a said face like this : ):

He danced and talked to Celeste which made me a bit mad. And he just kiss America without noticing the trouble. Like they could've been ended up like Marlee and Carter. I'm scared again of what will happen in The One because i'm sensing Maxon WILL know their relationship. Oh darn, i'm so scared. I wish he is murdered by the rebels or just killed by Maxon. And the king should join him too, perhaps.

Speaking of the rebels, i liked that girl! Do you know who it is? It's the one who looks at America when's she's hanging upside down in a tree. Then she just curtsied and ran off, who is this girl? She is very interesting. Maybe because she knows America is going to make the revolution. But if Kriss was in there, i think your luck would've been run out.

Kiera Cass should kill Kriss you know? Lol i'm so evil i'm sorry world and Kriss. But that's the death of a character that we cared about but not make us break. It's perfect!

I almost forgot about who's her name, Nicoletta? ITALY SUPPOTS HER!! She have to win because it would make the bond and if she just tells the king it would be alright. I sensed maybe in The One, America will call them perhaps?

And do you think that America's father is one of the rebel? He have his history books. And then at the halloween he just wandering around the palace and after that it just happen some rebels got the book. But it's probably the northeners, not the southerners. Oh, and when he talked to Maxon in the garden i was like, so excited. Because before proposing, the man has to ask the father of the girl right? But i was wrong..

And now the last thing, Marlee and Carter's accident.

Even when i reread it, my heart was beating so fast. I remember when the maids woke her up and then in a black dress and Marlee wasn't there. I was what's going on heck WHAT'S GOING ON. And then there's carter and how didn't i figured it out? Every guards she pass she just tells us it's a guard but when it's Carter, she asked for her name just because she ran over him.

And when Marlee was tortured, i can't handle this. And how sweet it is for Carter to say Love you and tells her that everything's gonna be alright. Now that's a gentleman. And goodness gracious i was so happy with America when she ran for the stage. Everyone seems to like it too because that shows love and bravery. And when America meets Marlee again, oh god i was beyond happy.

And that's all for today. Now i'm going to start The One so do not disturb me!

THANKS FOR READING! :)

ALBERT~
